Walk : Easy walk of 4+ miles through clay pits, fields and some quiet B roads. May be muddy if wet, 3 stiles of new and easy construction. There are steps.
Directions : From Warrington town centre travel towards Manchester on A57. After driving through Woolston and over the M6 motorway, continue towards Irlam. At second set of traffic lights turn left then immediate left again, pub is on your right.

OR A50 (Knutsford Rd). At Mere traffic lights turn right on to A556, then at first traffic lights (after traffic island at Junction 19) go straight on. At second set of traffic lights turn left (Lower Peover/Plumley) into Plumley Moor Lane. At fork by Methodist Church keep left. Pub is on the right after crossing bridge.
Distance : Approx 9 miles from Junction 19.

Walk : Easy walk along canal towpaths, lanes and field footpaths. There is some road walking.
Directions : From Warrington take the A5061 Knutsford Road over Latchford Swing Bridge and turn immediately left onto the B5157 Thelwall New Road. After about 1.5 miles the Pickering Arms Car Park is on the right just after a sharp bend.
