Meet : The Childe of Hale pub, 6 Church End, Hale L24 4AX. Toilets and order lunch before walk.
Walk : A lovely walk through Hale Village and onto the Mersey Path where we turn left, walk past Hale Bank lighthouse and then pick up Within Way back into Hale. If there is low tide, there should be plenty of bird life for added interest.
Directions : From Warrington take the A57 towards Liverpool, but at the end of Sankey Way pick up A562 and follow this road for 7.7 miles through Penketh, Widnes and Ditton. Church End is a left turn. Follow Church End until you reach the pub.

Meet : Golden Pheasant, Plumley Moor Rd, Plumley, Cheshire WA16 9RX. Order food before start. Toilets available.
Walk : Mainly Cheshire fields, back lanes and 3 woods. Possibility of livestock. 10 Stiles + some skill at limbo would be useful!! Mud in places + definitely will be muddy if wet.
If using M56 : From Junction 10 M56 take A559 Northwich road going south for 7.5 miles until you reach the Traffic lights at Slow and Easy pub . Turn left and stay on to the A556 ( Manchester road ) and follow the road keeping to the left at the roundabouts where it become the main Chester road. After 0.5 miles exit to the left towards Plumley (This enables you to turn right across the main road ) at the traffic lights ( The Smoker pub is on the right) Follow this road (Plumley Moor Road) for 2 miles (take the first exit at the mini roundabout in Plumley) The pub is on right just after you cross over the railway bridge.
Alternative route :
If using M6: From Junction 20 M6 going south leave Motorway at Junction 19 to A556 ( signpost Knutsford/ Macclesfield Northwich. At roundabout Take 3rd exit A556 Chester road. After 2.5 miles Turn left onto Plumley Moor Road ( Traffic Lights at The smoker pub on left ). Follow road for 2 miles (take the first exit at the mini roundabout in Plumley) The pub is on right just after you cross over the railway bridge.
Distance : 9 mile (20 mins) from junction 10 M56 or 8 miles (12 mins) from J20 M6 going south.

Walk : An easy walk on roads and across fields to the Dam, through Lymm and along the canal. Could be muddy in places.
Directions : From Bridge Foot take Knutsford Road passing Victoria Park. Follow A50 through Latchford and Grappenhall. Turn left at the traffic lights at the Springbrook pub towards Lymm A56. Keep on this road for approx 3 miles passing the dam. The pub is on the left just before the traffic lights at Broomedge.
Distance : Approx 15 mins, 6 miles from Bridgefoot.

Meet : Egerton Arms, Vicarage Lane, Little Budworth, CW6 9BS. The pub is a free house, with some very interesting beers, all the food is home made and the family who own it are delightful. They are going to make us a special Christmas pie. Order food before the walk please. Toilet facilities at the pub.
Walk : Fields, quiet lanes exploring the Oulton Park estate and its fantastic buildings and great views. Stiles? Yes, about 8. Muddy? Well it is winter and we do cross fields. Quite a lot of the walk will be on tarmac lanes or byways.
Directions : Take the A49 south out of Warrington. Cross over the M56 motorway at junction 10 and in approx 10 miles cross over the A54. In half a mile turn left onto Coach Road. Continue for several miles through woods and at the T junction turn left onto Park Road. In a few hundred yards look out for the 'cross' and the sign for the Egerton Arms on the left.

Walk : A repeat of a walk earlier in the year on and around the Sandstone Trail. It is moderate, hilly and muddy but the worst area will be avoided.
Directions : As roadworks are a potential problem please allow extra time as we need to start promptly. Head towards Frodsham. A mile after crossing the Weaver bridge before the town go left up Fluin Lane. At T junction left then right onto Church Lane. Opposite the church turn left onto Bellemonte rd.
Distance : 10 miles and 20 mins from Stockton Heath.

Meet : Knutsford Entrance of Tatton Park in Garden Road. Park outside if you can find space by the golf club wall or elsewhere in Knutsford, or share cars and pay the £5 parking fee between you. If you park inside turn right immediately after paying and use the small parking area near the trees instead of going up to the main car park. There is also a toilet near this entrance.
Lunch : Use the café or eat your own picnic. This will be for about an hour to give walkers time to visit the shops or ride the carousel.
The terrain varies from paved roads to very boggy patches so be prepared!

Walk : A pleasant walk close to the border taking in woods and fields with some good views over Deeside, lots of mud, 10+ stiles and a few friendly horses. Likely to be muddy.
Directions: Take the M56 towards N. Wales to end and continue onto A494 for 4.4 miles. Take B5129 exit from A494 (Queensferry) and at roundabout take 2nd exit onto Gladstone Way A550, continue 1.4 miles into Hawarden onto Glynne Way. The Glynne Arms will be on your left opposite the junction in 200yds. About 28 miles / 40 mins from J9 M56.

Suggested route : From the A50 Knutsford Road out of Warrington turn left at The Springbrook on the A56 towards Lymm. Continue on this road passing Lymm Dam on your right and then The Old Number 3 pub on your left. Just past a bend in the road look out for a sign to The Swan with Two Nicks on your left. Turn down this narrow road and the pub is on your left. 6 miles from The Springbrook.

Directions : From junction 21 take M6 north for 2.1 miles. At junction 21A, exit onto M62 towards Liverpool/Warrington (N)/Southport/M57 for 11 .1 miles . At junction 6, exit onto M57 towards Docks/Prescot/Southport for10 miles as you approach the end of the motorway look carefully at the signs as you will need to move to the right then stay on Broom's Cross Rd (A5758.). After 2.3 miles at the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Southport Rd/A565. After 0.3 miles. Turn left onto Green Ln/A5207. Pub is almost immediately on your left.

Directions : Take Knutsford Road (A50) out of Warrington for around 3 miles and then turn left onto the A56 at the lights at the Springbrook pub. Follow the A56 for about 6 miles. Turn left at the lights at the Jolly Thresher onto the B5169 and then in 0.5 miles turn right onto Warrington Lane. The Barn Owl is 100 yds on the left.

Walk : Some road walking but mostly fields & woods. Can be strenuous in places either up or down hill with some steps again up and down. Some muddy bits which hopefully will dry out over the next couple of weeks. Nice views across the Cheshire Plains and the hills of North Wales.
Directions: From Stretton Roundabout take the A49 (Whitchurch) follow road until you reach the A556 Chester Road then turn right. Continue on the A556 until it joins the A54 and then look for the left turn at the lights singposted Kelsall and Willington. The Farmers Arms is on your left in 150 yards.

Directions : Warrington to Frodsham on the A56 continuing through Frodsham towards Helsby on A56 turning left onto the B5393 signed for Manley & Tarvin. Continue along this road to Alvanley. The White Lion is on the right opposite the church, next to the school.
Distance : 15mins from M56 junction 11, approx. 8 miles .Major road works on A56 so could be better to use M56 to junction 11, then continue on A56 as above.

Walk : Moderate but some steep inclines and steps, could be muddy.
Directions. From J11 on M62, go East towards Manchester. At J12 take M60 exit towards Leeds. At J15, take M61 towards Preston. Continue for 0.5 miles. Keep to the right at fork onto A666 towards Bolton for 1 mile, then continue on St Peters Way for 3 miles. At lights, turn right into A673 Turton Street. In ¼ mile, turn left onto Folds Road, A676 continue for 2 miles. Turn left into Bradshaw Road, still on A676 for 2 miles.Turn left on to Bury Road, continue for 1 ½ miles. White Horse is then on the left, turn left at crossroads into car park. If full, overflow parking further down the road at Barlow Institute.
Distance : 40 minutes from J11 on M62.
