Walk : A version of Jen Randle’s planned walk to Mow Cop - we have not done this walk so some map reading may be needed!
Directions : M6 South to Junction 17 – left onto A534 – after 4miles turn right onto Wallhill Lane (which becomes Brownlow Heath Lane). After 1½ miles bear left onto Brook Lane – after 100 yds turn right onto A34. In 1 mile turn left into Little Moreton Hall.
Distance : Approx 30 miles from Warrington.

|Meet : At the Craft and Antique Centre at Afon Wen. Post code CH7 5UB:, grid reference 127 Horizontal 716 vertical. Please park on the far side of the car park. There are toilet and café facilities at this venue.
Walk : Starts with a steep ascent for about 30 minutes up to Offa’s Dyke then along to the hill fort and descends to the car park at the foot of Moel Arthur following tracks and bridal paths to Trefechan. The views given a good day are marvellous.
Directions : From Warrington M56 West A55 from Queens Ferry to B5122 signposted Caerwys. Continue through the village to join the A543 turn left and in a few yards turn right into the Afon Wen complex and go down to the car park outside the Antiques and Craft centre.
Distance : From Warrington one hour and a quarter.

Directions : From M56 junction 10 take A559 south towards Northwich (signposted Marbury Park). After 3 mile turn right onto Gibb Hill and continue on this road for 1.5 miles (it's name changes). Turn left into the Park (not the garden centre) then left again after 200 yds to get into main car park (pay and display £1.50).

Walk: Takes in Foxwist Green, Whitegate, Petty Pool and several other stretches of water. It uses field and woodland paths, tracks and some quiet road sections. It may be muddy in sections. Toilets and cafe at car park.
Directions : From M56 junction 10 at Stretton, follow the A49 south for about 8 miles to the junction with the A556 (garage under refurbishment). Turn Left onto A556 and then right at the next traffic lights towards Winsford. After 1.8 miles turn Right at a cross roads into Clay Lane. Immediately after the narrow bridge with traffic lights turn Left into Whitegate Station Car Park.
Distance : Allow 25 minutes from M56 J10 (12 miles).

|Walk : Easy/Moderate. Tracks, field paths, muddy in places, with quite a lot of road walking.
Meet : High Legh Garden Centre C.P. Explorer 276 approx. SJ699836 (approx postcode WA16 0QW).
Directions : A49 towards High Legh. On reaching High Legh tiurn right into Halliwell’s Brow & almost immediately turn left into Garden Centre Car Park. Please park on the right farthest away from the Garden Centre entrance. There are toilets in the Garden Centre & of course there’s also the café.

Walk : Canal paths, trans pennine trail and other footpaths. I expect it will still be muddy!

Meet : Knutsford Entrance of Tatton Park in Garden Road. Park outside if you can find space by the golf club wall or elsewhere in Knutsford, or share cars and pay the £5 parking fee between you. If you park inside turn right immediately after paying and use the small parking area near the trees instead of going up to the main car park. There is also a toilet near this entrance.
Lunch : Use the café or eat your own picnic. This will be for about an hour to give walkers time to visit the shops or ride the carousel.
The terrain varies from paved roads to very boggy patches so be prepared!

|Meet : Wigg Island Community Park. Map Ref: SJ 532839. Post Code: WA7 1PU. Toilets: We pass a few establishments that might offer facilities. Cafe near the end. For many people this is a place you pass by but I found it interesting, varied and unusual.
Walk : Easy – mostly urban walking but a bit of rocky up and down hill.
Directions: From the Widnes direction, follow the A533 round to the left for about half a mile until there is an exit to the left signed to Astmoor and (brown sign) Wigg Island Community Park. Follow this towards Astmoor for about 0.3 mile then look out for another brown sign, turn left. From Daresbury there are a number of diversions because of the new bridge scheme. Follow signs to The Bridge. Once clear of the diversion signs look out for an exit to the left signed Wigg Island Community Park. At the T junction turn right and then filter into the traffic coming from the Bridge. After 0.25 miles look for sign to the left to Wigg Island Community Park. Then everyone follow this road round to the right and turn right over canal bridge with traffic lights. Keep on road for 0.3 miles keeping to the left to the car park. Do NOT enter the Mersey Link Site.

Walk: Takes in the Old Pale viewpoint, Eddisbury Hillfort, Boothsdale and Kelsborrow Castle. It uses forestry tracks, field and woodland paths, and some quiet road sections. It may be muddy in sections.
Suggested Route: From M56 junction 10 at Stretton, follow the A49 south for about 8 miles to the junction with the A556 by a garage. Turn Right onto A556 and after 2.2 miles turn right at the crossroads by the Vale Royal Abbey Arms towards Delamere. After 1.1 mile turn Left. Follow road for 0.5 miles past the Visitor Centre and turn left into an open area part of the car park £6 Fee. Allow 25 minutes from M56 J10 (13 miles).

Walk : Route is through woods, fields, canal towpath and lanes. Muddy in parts (certainly on recce), walking poles recommended.
Suggested route M6 North to Junction 27. Left onto A5209 towards Parbold . Car Park at Miller and Carter Parbold Hill on right (3 miles). Park in car park away from restaurant. Parking free but toilet closed at start as it is not open until 11.30am. Toilets and drinks available after walk. Use if possible as a thank you for use of car park.
Distance 19 miles from J21 M6.

Terrain : Pleasant winter walk following woodland, field and riverside paths, grit and tarmac.
Directions : Our route from Lymm took about 30 minutes and was approx. 24 miles. M6 North to Junction 21A (M62 Man. N). Exit Junction 12 (M60 N-Leeds M62). Follow and EXIT at Junction 15 onto the M61/A666. Take A666 and exit at Junction 3 (SP KEARSLEY). Right on the roundabout 3rd exit (A666 Kearsley). Follow and in about 2 miles (just past Salford sign) turn LEFT into Clifton House Road (BROWN signpost on right CLIFTON COUNTRY PARK). Follow signs to Car Park.

Walk : Easy. Tracks through pinewoods, dunes, wetlands, scrub and seashore.
Distance : Time & mileage from M62 Jt10 40mins. & 28 miles.
Suggested route:. M62 westbound exit J6 onto M57 towards Docks/Prescot/Southport. After 10 miles Slight right onto Broom’s Cross Rd/A5758. At roundabout take 2nd exit onto Southport Rd/A565 .At roundabout take 1st exit onto Liverpool Rd/B5424. At roundabout take 1st exit onto Raven Meols Ln. Turn right onto Kings Rd. At roundabout 1st exit onto Formby Bridge. Continue onto Kirklake Rd Turn right onto Woodlands Rd. Continue onto Harington Road. Turn left onto Victoria Rd. Carry on along the road after the NT entrance and toilets to the Beach carpark. Car park free to NT members (£5.70 to non-members)

|Walk : Easy/Moderate. Tracks, canal towpaths, field paths with some road walking. Muddy in places.
Meet : Eagle & Child Pub car park in Maltkiln Ln., Bispham Green, Near Ormskirk. Explorer 285 GR SD 489135, postcode L40 3SG. Hopefully, toilets at Pub.
Distance : Time & mileage from M6 J22 about 30 mins. & 20 miles.
Suggested route: M6 J22 towards Preston to J27 (A5209). turn left towards Parbold, in about ¼ mile turn right onto Moss Lane. After about 1mile keep left onto Robin Hood Lane then almost immediately right into High Moor Lane. At Y junction keep right into Whittle Lane which becomes Bannister Lane at junction with Bentley Lane. Keep left into Chorley Road then keep right onto Maltkiln Lane (signposted Bispham Green & Mawdesley. Pub is on the right after about ¾ mile. Car park is at the rear. Try to fill cars to save parking space.

|Meet: Crowden Car Park (free) just off A628, SatNav SK13 1HZ (approx), Grid ref SK072992.
Walk: Around 2 reservoirs then a long ascent (360 metres though not massively steep) to Millstone Rocks and Lad’s Leap, then back down to Crowden. Great views on a clear day. Note there is a short section of narrow footpath with a steep drop to one side. Could be muddy on top.
Directions: M56, M60, past Stockport, M67, A57, A628
Distance: 36 miles from J21 M6 , approx 1 hr

|Meet : Bottom of Paddock Lane, Kettleshulme. There is a parking area near houses. If not enough space there park on Paddock lane where there is space. We will gather at the Methodist Church at 10.30am.There are no toilets so call at Sainsbury’s on way into Macclesfield.
Walk : moderate to strenuous with one main ascent near the start up to 1500ft. Spectacular views constantly, weather permitting! Old mill building near the start.
Directions, from Warrington take the A556 to Knutsford then the A537 to Macclesfield and then the B5470 to Kettleshulme.32 miles one hour fifteen minutes. On entering village take first left Paddock Lane, drive to bottom and round to the right.
