Directions : From the Lymm interchange take A50 to Knutsford then A537 to Macclesfield. At the Tesco roundabout take the A523 to Leek. As you pass through Leek take A53 to Buxton. Pass through Blackshaw Moor and a pub Three Horse Shoes on the right. A short distance further take the B road to Upper Hulme. Follow the road past the Tea Rooms. The parking is free along the road on marked bays. This may be limited so suggest you share cars where possible.
Distance : Allow 1hr 15 mins. 50 miles.

Walk : Route is through woods, fields and by a lake. Mostly dry underfoot.
Directions : Suggested route from Lymm Interchange: take M56 to N Wales/Chester. Continue on A494 then A55. At Junction 31 signed Caerwys/ Prestatyn A5151/B5122 take first exit to Caerwys. Continue through village to junction with A541 (approx 3 miles). Turn left then immediately right to Craft Centre. Park in car park as far away from centre as possible. We are limited to 5 cars but there are spaces available close to the centre.
Distance : 47 miles and allow 1 hour.

Directions. M56, M53, A55, A483 (Wrexham), take junc 4 exit, and at T junc turn R onto A525 (Ruthin). Through Coedporth. In approx 6.5 mls at traffic signals turn L onto A5104 (Corwen). In approx 4.5 mls turn L for Bryn Eglwys village. Park on this lane near the bus shelter in the village

Walk : Moderate. Farm tracks, field paths, meadows & woods with some road walking, (about 4-5 stiles).
Directions : M6 to J34, TL onto A683 towards Caton & Kirkby Lonsdale. After about 2 miles turn sharp left signposted Halton. After about ½ mile CP is on the right.
Distance : From M6 J22 about 1hr.

Meet : Coombes Valley Nature Reserve. Postcode: ST13 7EU. Lat/Long: N53.078906 W1.787793.
Grid Ref: SK007 48 53246. Toilets at car park.
Walk : Footpaths, tracks (map OL24) 1 long climb, l shorter climb. Could be muddy.
Directions : M6 south to Jct 17 signed A534 Congleton. Using A34/A54 go through Congleton Town Centre and out on the A54, signposted to Leek. In about 2 miles at traffic lights at crossroads, turn right onto the A523 to Leek. Stay on A523 through Leek (watch for right hand and left hand turns out of Leek). From the left hand turn in Leek travel about 2.4 miles then turn right following brown signs to Coombes Valley Nature Reserve (about 1 mile). The car park is on the left. There is a charge of £2 per car (RSPB members free).
Distance : About 1 hour from Jct 21 on the M6.
Meet: Coed Llangwyfan car park situated at the highest point of the lane which runs between Llangwyfan and Nannerch - No toilets. Grid ref: 139 668 (Landranger 116, Explorer 265) approx. Post Code LL16 4NA
Walk: 7.5 miles - a moderate route along the Clwydian ridge visiting two Iron Age hillforts with two steep but manageable ascents and descents between them. Paths are good throughout and views are extensive in clear conditions.
Directions: Suggested route – M56, A494, A541 (St.Asaph) – Turn off A541 onto Village Road (signposted Nannerch). After ½ mile turn left to Llandyrnog (brown, fly fishing sign) – the car park is 2¼ miles from this junction.
Distance: Approximately 45 miles – allow 1 hour from Junction 10, M56.

Meet : National Park Car Park at Gradbach, just off the Flash to Allgreave Road, Peak District. Grid Ref SJ 998 662, use Post Code SK17 0SU
Walk : Takes in the Dane Valley Way, Hanging Stone, Back Forest ridge, Roach End and Lud’s Church using woodland and field paths, bridleways, tracks and some quiet road sections. There is a short steep accent and some uneven steps and paths that may be muddy in sections. Tea rooms and Hilly Billy ice cream available at Blaze Farm on A54 2½ miles from CP.
Directions : A50 & A537 to Macclesfield. At Tesco roundabout right on A523 Silk Road towards Leek. After 0.9 miles left at traffic lights to Sutton Lane Ends. After 3.9 miles Left on A54. After 1.8 miles turn sharp right at the Rose & Crown and after another 2 miles turn sharp right at a sign to a Scout campsite. The car park is 0.3 miles along on the right.
Distance : Allow 1 hour from M6 J20 (30 miles)

Meet : In Dunsop Bridge stay on same road which goes right, over the bridge. Car Park on left. Pay & display £1.80. Toilets. Café open 9 - 4.
Walk : 8 miles – Moderate – Mainly good paths, one steep, short climb, possibly wet on top.
Directions : M6 north to J 31A – B6242/3, follow signs towards Longridge. After passing Longridge town sign and entering 30 mph limit, bear left at mini-roundabout (signed Longridge B6244/3). Straight across at next roundabout (following Beacon Fell / Chipping). Next 2 roundabouts bear left (Beacon Fell ) then road turns sharp right for Chipping and Whitewell. After 2.5 miles turn right ( signed Trough of Bowland & Whitewell). After 1 mile turn left ( Whitewell). At T junction turn right ( Whitewell ). Next left ( Whitewell ). Pass the `Inn at Whitewell’ on left and follow same road bearing left. In Dunsop Bridge stay on same road which goes right, over the bridge. Car Park on left.
*There are other routes from Longridge (this is the easiest) or even via Clitheroe & Newton (longer but straighter).
Distance : First route took us just over 1 hour from Gt Sankey.

Walk: strenuous route visiting two well-known summits in the Clwydian range, with magnificent views.
Directions:   suggested route - from M56  J10  follow signs for  North Wales . Exit onto A494 signed  Mold,  continue on A494 through Loggerheads, turning  right after ½ mile (signed Tafarn-y-Gelyn) and follow this narrow lane for 1 mile – turn right into car park.
Distance: from J10 M56 approx. 35 miles and takes about 50 minutes.

Walk : 20 minutes steep climb at start up Parlick – ridge walk to Fair Snape Fell –easy descent to Bleasdale (Bronze Age burial site) – pasture/woodland back to start) .
Directions : Route (took us approx 1 hour from Gt Sankey) – M6 north to J 31A – follow signs towards Longridge. After Grimsargh bear left at roundabout (signed Longridge B6244). Straight across at next roundabout (following Beacon Fell / Chipping). Next 2 roundabouts bear left (Beacon Fell ) then road turns sharp right for Chipping. Come to Loud Lower Bridge – 200 yards later turn right to Chipping by sign for Dog and Partridge In Chipping – left at T-junction then quickly right after church into Church Raike (last toilets on left!). In 200 yards road forks left- ignore right turn after ¾ mile (Fish House Lane). After ¼ mile turn right then leave road (to the right) at sharp left bend (Startifants Lane sign) for parking.

Meet : Severn-Trent Car Park at Tittesworth Reservoir on the eastern edge of Meerbrook, Staffs. Grid Ref SJ 993 603, use Post Code ST13 8SN
Walk: Takes in part of the Churnet Way, round Hen Cloud, along the Roaches and through Roach Grange. It uses field paths, tracks and some quiet road sections. There are a number of stiles and some uneven steps and paths that may be muddy in sections. Toilets and cafe at CP but £4:70 car park fee.
Suggested Route: M6 to Knutsford, A537 through Chelford, Right on A34.towards Congleton after 4.5 miles pass the Davenport Arms and next left. Cross A536 through Rodeheath and North Rode. Left on A54 and then right on A523 towards Leek. 3.3 miles fork left, left at next crossroads and then right and right again at a triangle of roads, following signs to Meerbrook. Pass the Lazy Trout, cross the reservoir and turn right into the car park. Park in one of the areas on the right overlooking the reservoir. Allow 1 hour from M6 J20 (32 miles)

Directions : Suggested route Knutsford, Macclesfield. Cross the A523 at roundabout by Tesco, to take B5470 signposted Rainow. Through Rainow and in less than 1 mile turn right into Smith Lane. At T junction turn right signposted Goyt Valley. Follow these brown signs, right at Jenkin chapel, past Pym Chair CP & down to the reservoir and car park at bottom of hill, which is to the west of the causeway.
Distance : Approx 65mins & 28 mls from Lymm.

Walk : Easy – parks (some paths could be muddy) / city / promenade.
Distance : 8 miles
Directions : Make your way to the Runcorn/Widnes bridge. At the Widnes end of the bridge follow the A562/A561 road for about 20 minutes for approximately 9 miles through various sets of traffic lights. You will pass the Jaguar Factory on the right, then the Estuary Commercial Park and Crown Plaza Hotel (formerly the old Liverpool Airport) on the left. Notice the Match Factory on the left then pass through Garston and Aigburth. Shortly after St Ann’s church on the left turn left at the significant traffic lights into Jericho Lane. At the island turn left and stop in the second car park on the right opposite the Otterspool pub.

Meet : Chirk Castle - GR SJ267384. OL 256. SatNav LL14 5AF. FREE parking and toilets at Home Farm car park,
Walk : A lovely meander through the Marches following lanes, field paths and towpath including two tunnels (with handrails - but a torch would be useful ). Chirk Castle is National Trust so sign in if you are a Member as it helps with their funding. A slight detour at the end of the walk can take us up to the Castle Tea Rooms !!
Directions : From Lymm (Junction 20) it took about an hour/45 miles. M56/M53 Chester/A55. Exit A55 at Junction 38 Sign posted A483 Wrexham. Left at roundabout FIRST exit and follow A483 OSWESTRY. RIGHT on roundabout THIRD exit SP CHIRK/LLANGOLLEN A5. At the next roundabout continue STRAIGHT ahead on A5 (ignoring B5070 Chirk Castle sign). In 300 yards turn LEFT at BROWN SIGN FOR MARINA and follow narrow winding lane (passing the Marina) and eventually reaching crossroads with Chirk Castle Entrance straight ahead.

Walk : Field, river & canal paths, parks, meadows & woods with some road walking.
Directions : M6 to J27, TR onto A5209 to Standish. At T/lights in Standish TL onto A49. At Coppull TR at mini R/about onto B5251 (Oak Tree Tile Centre on corner). Stay on this road for about 1½ miles TR into Birkacre Road, SP Yarrow Valley Country Park. Pass Birkacre Garden Centre on the right. Entrance to CP is at bottom of the road.
Distance : from M6 J22 about 40 mins.

Meet : The Bickerton Poacher Inn SY14 8BE A534 Wrexhan Road, Bulkeley Village
Walk : One short strenuous climb. A walk through countryside and lanes towards Bickerton Hills passing the Old Hill Fort of Maiden Castle then to the second set of Bickerton Hills along the sandstone trail towards Raw Head down to Bulkeley Village on return to Poacher.
Directions : From Warrington take A49 heading South towards Tarporley , at Tarporley outskirts go left on bypass (for short distance take A49/A51 towards Nantwich and Whitchurch,) after 2miles turn right at traffic lights (Red Fox on your right) follow the A49 towards Whitchurch past Beeston Spurstow until you meet the A534 signposted to Wrexham. After 2 miles or so you will find the Bickeron Poacher on your left, go into the 2nd car park just pass the Inn on your left past speed camera.
Distance : About 28 Miles from centre of Warrinton to Bulkeley

Meet : Acton Village Car park. CW5 8LE. On the the B5341 opposite Acton Church.
Walk : A circular Country walk fringing Nantwich centre and some canal pathways.
Directions : Take the A49 from Warrington to outskirts of Tarporley then left on Bypass towards Nantwich and Whitchurch A51/A49 at main traffic lights go straight on towards Nantwich A51 passing all villages through and pass the Wardle Industrial Site Traffic lights until reach next main lights past sugbury Ice Cream Farm. At next traffic lights go straight on and you will be on the B5341 after 1 mile Acton Village Car Park will be on your left.
Distance : About 28 miles journey distance from Warrington

Meet : Bowden Bridge car park (£4.50) or free on road GR SK 048869 or approx SK22 2LH satnav
Walk : Long, very steep (in places), ascent up to Kinder summit plateau then following the plateau edge past the downfall and then descending back to Bowden Bridge.
Directions : M56/M60 past Stockport onto M67 then A57 towards Glossop. Then A6016/A624 to Hayfield or you could go through Stockport. Bowden Bridge is on the minor Kinder Road from Hayfield, the car park is on left in a quarry near the camp site. Approx 36 miles from junc 20 M6, approx 50 mins.

Walk : Field paths, & some road walking. Maybe muddy in places.
Directions : M6 to J31. TR onto A59, after about 9 miles turn left at traffic lights B6245 for Ribchester. After crossing River Ribble follow brown signs for Museum, Turn left at 'T’ junction then shortly turn right to Car Park.
Distance : About 1 hour from Croft.
